New-build front yard with turf, Colorbond fencing and side access
The project
Front Yard Transformation
A newly built Pemulwuy home whose front yard was still in construction condition. Sir Walter buffalo turf was laid over prepared ground, charcoal Colorbond fencing was installed on a treated pine retaining base, timber garden edging and planted beds were formed, and the muddy side access was made usable with charcoal pebbles and concrete stepping stones. A new letterbox was installed.

What the site presented, and what was built

What the site presented
Left in construction condition
The front yard was bare soil with temporary sediment barriers still in place and no landscaping at all.
Patchy builder-grade grass
What grass there was had gone patchy and weedy, so it needed removing rather than repairing.
Muddy side access
The narrow gap between properties was mud and construction debris with no surface underfoot.
What we built
Turf over prepared ground
The patchy grass was stripped, the soil prepared, and Sir Walter buffalo turf laid across the front yard.
Colorbond fencing on a timber base
Charcoal Colorbond fencing was installed on a treated pine retaining wall base, which also picks up the fall along the boundary.
Usable side access
Charcoal pebble ground cover and concrete stepping stones were laid through the side access, with matching Colorbond fencing and a rear gate.
