Concrete removal with new turf, edging, and stepping stone pathway
The project
Backyard Refresh
A Dulwich Hill backyard that was entirely concrete slab. The slab was broken out and removed, the base was prepared for a lawn profile, timber edging was set, turf was laid, and a pebble path with dark stepping stones was run from the rear door out into the garden.

What the site presented
The whole yard was slab
The yard was one concrete slab, which held heat and left no soft ground at all.
Water with nowhere to go
The aged slab shed everything to the surface, which contributed to the drainage problems.
What we built
Slab removed and base prepared
The concrete was broken out and taken away, and the ground beneath was prepared to a lawn-ready profile.
Lawn and access path
Turf was laid within timber edging, with a pebble and stepping stone path creating a route from the rear door through the yard.
