The project
Garden Transformation
An overgrown Marrickville garden with no route through it. The layout was set out first, then brick bond paving and stepping stones were laid to carry the paths, garden edging was installed to hold the bed lines, turf went into the lawn area, and the beds were replanted and mulched.

What the site presented, and what was built
The constraints that shaped this project and the work delivered.
What the site presented
Garden overgrown
Years of minimal maintenance had left the planting overgrown and the structure of the garden buried in it.
No paths between areas
There was no proper route connecting the different parts of the garden, so people walked across the beds and lawn.
What we built
Layout set before construction
The paths, bed lines and lawn area were set out first so the paving and planting had a structure to follow.
Paving, edging, turf and planting
Brick bond paving and stepping stones carry the paths, edging holds the bed lines, turf covers the lawn area, and the beds were replanted and mulched.
